Inventors like to talk about their product and why it is great. But the target audience is much more interested in a story that they can relate to. Having a good story has always been the case, but today with social media groups and posts playing such a big role in inventor’s success a story is even more important.

These types of social media forums are essential for start-up success, especially if you are selling on your Internet site, or on Amazon or another Internet site. They are essential because your website is unlikely to be listed early in a Google search unless you are paying for Google ads, which is expensive. To get people to your site, you need all the publicity you can get, and social media is the most cost effective way to get your message to your target customers.
What gets noticed a social media forum are stories, much more so than product oriented posts, and in some cases product oriented posts won’t even go live on the social media forum. The better sites are more selective about what they allow on the sites. The more stories you have about your product, the more posting you will get and the positing you have the better chance you have of bringing people to your site.
