The kid who became an inventor
Wheel Driver story by Micaton Team
Michael Williams is the inventor of Wheel Driver, but this amazing tool didn’t come up suddenly. It’s the story of a kid who dreamed of creating things to help people. His father always encouraged him to play with all kinds of creative tools, to solve problems with his ingenuity, and to appreciate all that could come out of combining concepts. Together with his brother, he lived many adventures creating and testing his gadgets. An inventor must always test his ideas!
When you’re a kid, there is no difference between playing and inventing because everything is part of the same process.
Michael never stopped to play. He found in the Micaton company an opportunity to form a team with his same concerns, people dedicated to creating value-added projects that could provide ingenious solutions.
He has always been a motor lover, looking for adventure and freedom. The long rides, fishing trips, or bicycle journeys are some of his favorite hobbies.
Sometimes, a bad tightened wheel or a screw out of place can be very complicated situations due to not having a quick solution. Who has not happened? Even being a handyman, you can’t always carry tools with you. When you are living your adventure, that something goes wrong is not a possibility. But it happens.
One time his bicycle failed in the middle of a mountain, and he couldn’t repair it. The piece he had to tighten was too hard, and he was not able to fix it. It was a hard day, and he came home very tired and full of mud, but with only one idea in his head … find a solution! From that day on, the inventor kid began to play.
He gathered his team, and they decided that the next project should be useful for anyone. The Micaton team had already created several successful projects to help solve technical problems and improve tools, but this was a different challenge.
It was meant to be a very portable solution, helping you tighten and loosen many types of nuts and bolts easily. It did not matter if you needed to mount a piece of furniture or tighten the bicycle handlebar in the middle of nowhere.
Screwdrivers do not offer as much force, and bits need to be changed, and wrenches and ratchets are often cumbersome and not very versatile. How to combine it? This is how the idea for Wheel Driver came about. The Micaton team, playing and solving these problems, developed a different tool for everybody. It doesn’t matter if you are a DIY lover or if you only assemble IKEA furniture, you could have a new tool in your hand ready to rock. Another fantastic idea from the inventor kid!
But it was not an easy job to make it real. More than 500 hours of work were invested in its development, and during the full development of this wheel-shaped Palm Ratchet the COVID-19 situation came up, and the whole world stopped.
Many projects and companies were forced to end their activity, but the inventor kid could not see how his invention came to nothing. Not this time! So much hard work analyzing the world of screwing, meetings with hundreds of ideas, prototyping, and 3D printing during almost 2 years.
Michael and the Micaton team moved forward, despite those months of greatest uncertainty, quarantine restrictions, and many difficulties. Creativity did not stop and they achieved in the middle of full lockdown developed an ingenious tool for everybody, capable of responding to a lot of our daily tasks in a simple way. And yes, also a good looking piece, why not? If you wear a tool, make it cool.
Now the inventor kid idea is overcoming the final barrier, looking for support in a crowdfunding campaign. Help Michael and Micaton team to make this happen and get in your hands their final invention. Get the Wheel Driver!
